Additional Insured (Ongoing Operations) — 07 04 Edition
The 2004 CG 20 10 edition that narrowed the trigger to 'caused, in whole or in part, by' the named insured.
What it actually does
CG 20 10 07 04 is the July 2004 edition of the scheduled ongoing-operations additional-insured endorsement. It is the edition that changed the coverage trigger from the broad "arising out of your ongoing operations" (10 01) to liability "caused, in whole or in part, by" the named insured's acts or omissions.
That wording change matters: it ties the additional insured's coverage to the named insured's fault, so a loss caused solely by the additional insured's own negligence may not be covered. It does not yet contain the 04 13 edition's explicit "lower of" limits cap or "not broader than required by contract" clause.
Like every CG 20 10 edition, it covers ongoing operations only. Pair with CG 20 37 (matching edition) for completed operations.
Verification checklist
- 01Confirm the lower-corner edition reads '07 04'.
- 02Understand the fault-based trigger — pure AI-negligence losses may fall outside coverage.
- 03Check the schedule names the GC/owner and project.
- 04Pair with CG 20 37 07 04 for completed operations.
Which edition do you have?
07 04 sits between 10 01 (broad "arising out of") and 04 13 (added the limits cap and contract-limiting language). Its defining feature is the "caused, in whole or in part, by" fault-based trigger introduced in 2004.
Common mistakes
- ·Assuming 07 04 covers the additional insured's sole negligence — the 'caused by' trigger ties coverage to the named insured's fault.
- ·Mixing editions across the CG 20 10 / CG 20 37 pair.
