Designated Location(s) General Aggregate Limit
Per-location aggregate — distinct from the per-project form (CG 25 03).
What it actually does
CG 25 04 establishes a separate general aggregate limit for each designated *location* shown in the endorsement's schedule. Like CG 25 03, it prevents claims elsewhere from eroding the aggregate you're relying on — but it keys the separate aggregate to a location/premises rather than to a construction project.
The distinction matters in subcontract review. Construction subcontracts typically require a per-*project* aggregate (CG 25 03), because a project may span locations and a project-based aggregate maps to the job. A per-*location* aggregate (CG 25 04) is more common for fixed-premises operations. A broker sometimes substitutes CG 25 04 when the contract actually requires CG 25 03 — and a single construction project might not map cleanly to a single "location."
When verifying, confirm which form is attached, read the schedule, and make sure it matches what the subcontract requires (project vs location).
Verification checklist
- 01Confirm whether the subcontract requires per-project (CG 25 03) or per-location (CG 25 04) aggregate.
- 02Read the schedule and confirm your project/location is listed.
- 03Verify the dedicated aggregate limit meets the contract requirement.
- 04Watch for a CG 25 04 substituted where CG 25 03 was required.
Common mistakes
- ·Accepting CG 25 04 (per location) when the subcontract requires CG 25 03 (per project).
- ·Assuming a single project maps neatly onto a single designated location.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between CG 25 03 and CG 25 04?
CG 25 03 sets a separate general aggregate per designated construction project; CG 25 04 sets one per designated location/premises. Subcontracts usually want the per-project form.
When is CG 25 04 appropriate?
For fixed-premises operations where a separate aggregate per location makes sense. For a construction project that spans locations, the per-project CG 25 03 is the better fit.
Can CG 25 04 satisfy a per-project requirement?
Not reliably. If the subcontract requires CG 25 03, accepting CG 25 04 can leave a gap because a project may not equal one location.
