Limitation Of Coverage To Designated Premises Or Project
RESTRICTS coverage to a specific project — make sure your project is the listed one.
What it actually does
CG 21 44 limits the entire CGL policy to coverage for designated premises or a designated project. Outside the listed project, the policy doesn't respond.
This endorsement is typically used when a sub buys a project-specific policy (a "wrap" or "OCIP-companion" policy) that's not their general CGL. If your project is the designated one, fine. If not, the policy is useless to you.
When you see CG 21 44, your only question is: does the schedule list YOUR project? If yes, proceed. If no, the policy doesn't cover work for you and you need a different policy or a different sub.
Verification checklist
- 01Read the schedule carefully — confirm your specific project name and location is listed.
- 02If your project isn't listed, request a different policy or a CG 21 44 amendment.
- 03Verify the AI and waiver endorsements also reference the listed project, not a generic one.
Common mistakes
- ·Not noticing CG 21 44 at all and assuming the policy covers the sub's work everywhere.
- ·Reading the schedule too quickly and missing that the listed project doesn't match.
